CDCP and Dental Insurance Questions New Patients Ask
newpatientcare
Clear answers on CDCP coverage, direct billing, and what new patients pay at a South Surrey dental visit.
Does Morgan Heights Dental accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
Yes. We're a participating provider and direct bill CDCP for eligible patients. Bring your Sun Life member card and a piece of ID to your first visit.
Do you direct bill private insurance?
Yes — we direct bill most major private insurers so you only pay any remaining portion at the appointment. If your plan requires you to pay first and claim back, we'll give you an itemized receipt that's easy to submit.
What does a first visit cost if I don't have insurance?
Fees follow the BC Dental Association fee guide. A new-patient exam, hygiene cleaning, and any X-rays are quoted up front before anything begins. If a treatment is recommended, you'll see the full cost — and any insurance estimate — in writing before you decide.
What won't CDCP cover?
CDCP covers many preventive and basic restorative services, but some advanced procedures and cosmetic work may have co-pays or fall outside the plan. We'll walk you through what's covered the moment we build your treatment plan.
Do I need a referral to become a new patient?
No referral needed. Just call 604-535-8835 or visit Morgan Heights Dental Centre to book.
Can I bring my whole family on one appointment block?
Yes — we schedule back-to-back family appointments regularly. See our family dentistry page for details.
What if I have more local questions — parking, hours, insurance quirks?
Our South Surrey dentist FAQs covers the rest.
