A simple checklist for the days before your crown visit: what to eat, what to bring, what to ask, and how to feel at ease in the chair.

A same-day crown visit is easier when you know what to expect. Here is a simple checklist to help you feel ready. For the full picture of the technology, see our same-day CEREC crowns guide.

Before your visit

  1. Check your coverage: Review your plan or dental insurance and CDCP coverage so there are no surprises. We offer direct billing for most private plans and CDCP.
  2. Write down your questions: Ask about the shape, shade, and material of your crown, and how it will feel when you bite.
  3. Note your health history: Bring a list of medications and any allergies.
  4. Plan your timing: Most of the visit is spent on design and milling, so allow a good block of time. Our team can give you an estimate when you book.

The day of your visit

  1. Eat beforehand unless you have been told otherwise, such as when sedation is planned.
  2. Bring headphones if music or a podcast helps you relax.
  3. Arrive a few minutes early. Parking in the plaza is free.

If you feel nervous

Your tooth is frozen before treatment begins. If you would like more support, read our sedation dentistry guide or how to prepare for your first sedation dentistry appointment.

After your crown

We will go over how to care for your new crown and what to do if your bite feels off. Call us if anything feels uncomfortable.
