How to Switch Dentists in White Rock Without Losing Your Records

Thinking about switching from a Johnston Road dentist to one in South Surrey? Here's how to transfer records, insurance, and x-rays without the hassle.
Switching dentists sounds like paperwork, but it's usually a 15-minute errand. If you're moving your care from a White Rock office to Morgan Heights, here's the practical sequence.
1. Book your first visit before you cancel anything
You don't need to "break up" with your old dentist. Just book a new patient appointment first — our new patient information walks through what to bring.
2. Request your records in writing
Call your current office and ask them to send digital x-rays and chart notes to Morgan Heights Dental Centre. Most clinics do this within a few business days. You can also sign a release at your first visit and we'll request them on your behalf.
3. Confirm your insurance travels with you
BC dental benefits aren't tied to a specific clinic. If your plan allows direct billing, we can usually submit on your behalf — bring your insurance card and policy number.
4. Flag any work in progress
If you have a crown on order, a root canal partway through, or an implant healing, tell us at booking. We'll either continue the plan or coordinate with your previous dentist so nothing gets duplicated.
5. Plan the drive
Morgan Heights is about ten minutes from central White Rock via Highway 99 and 160 Street, with free on-site parking. Saturday appointments are available if weekdays are tight.
That's it — most patients are fully transferred before their second cleaning.
