CDCP Fee Guides Explained: Why Your Portion Can Differ

CDCP and the BC Dental Association fee guide are two different schedules. Here is how that gap creates your portion and how we help you plan.

One of the most confusing parts of using CDCP is the difference between what a dental office charges and what CDCP pays. It comes down to two fee guides.

Two schedules, one visit

Morgan Heights follows the BC Dental Association's fee guide. CDCP pays from its own schedule, which can be lower for some services. The difference is your portion.

It is not a surcharge

That gap is not an extra fee added on. It is simply the space between two sets of published fees.

An example, in plain terms

Imagine a service where our fee guide amount is higher than the CDCP amount. CDCP covers its own amount, and you cover the remainder. The actual figures depend on the service, so we confirm them before treatment.

How we help you plan

  1. We check your coverage when you book.
  2. For larger work, we send a predetermination to CDCP.
  3. We share your estimated portion before you decide.
  4. We bill Sun Life directly.

An estimate is not a guarantee, and CDCP makes the final decision.
