CDCP Dental Coverage in BC: Your Questions Answered
dentalinsurance
Straight answers to common questions about CDCP: who qualifies, what you pay, what it covers and how it works with private insurance at a South Surrey dentist.
Here are answers to the questions patients ask us most about CDCP.
Who qualifies for CDCP?
The Government of Canada decides who qualifies. We can show you where to confirm your eligibility, but we can't determine it for you.
How much will I pay?
Your share depends on family income. Under $70,000, you pay 0%. From $70,000 to $79,999, you pay 40%. From $80,000 to $89,999, you pay 60%.
Will CDCP cover my whole bill?
Not always. There are two fee guides, and the difference between them is your portion. We explain this and give you your cost before treatment begins.
Do I have to fill out claim forms?
No. We bill Sun Life directly, so you pay only your portion.
Can I use CDCP and private insurance together?
You usually can't have both. We can walk you through how they fit your situation. See our page on dental insurance and CDCP coverage.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, new patients are welcome. Read our new patient information to see what to expect.
What treatments might I need?
Many patients start with a check-up and cleaning. Learn more about family dentistry or browse our dental treatments.
Where can I see how other practices compare?
We reviewed 32 practice websites in our CDCP dentist analysis.
