Same-Day CEREC Crowns: What Happens During Your One Visit

A closer look at how a same-day CEREC crown is designed and made in a single appointment, and what it means for your time and comfort.

Traditional crowns often need two visits and a temporary crown in between. A same-day CEREC crown is designed to change that.

How it works

  • Digital scan: a small camera captures your tooth, so there's usually no need for messy impression material.
  • Design: your crown is designed on screen, and you can see it take shape.
  • Milling: an in-office machine shapes the crown from a ceramic block.
  • Fitting: your dentist checks the fit and bite, then bonds the crown in place.

Why patients like it

  • One appointment instead of two or three
  • No temporary crown to look after
  • Fewer return trips for work and family schedules

Is it right for everyone?

Not always. Some teeth or bite situations call for a different approach, and we'll tell you honestly which option suits you best.
