Clear, honest answers to common questions about dental implants in South Surrey and White Rock, including comfort, timing, and coverage.
Thinking about an implant often brings a lot of questions. Here are the ones we hear most, answered plainly. For a deeper overview, visit our dental implants guide.
Does getting an implant hurt?
The area is numbed during placement, and many patients describe the experience as more manageable than they expected. Some soreness afterward is common. For nervous patients, we also offer options described in our sedation dentistry guide.
How long does the whole process take?
Usually several months. After placement, bone typically needs about four to six months to bond with the implant before the crown is attached. Your timeline depends on your bone and health.
How much do dental implants cost?
Cost depends on how many implants you need, whether bone grafting is required, how complex the surgery is, and the type of crown. After an exam and imaging, our front desk walks you through your estimate before treatment.
Does insurance help?
Some plans may cover part of the treatment, and coverage varies. See our page on dental insurance and CDCP coverage, and we are happy to help you understand your plan.
How do I know if I'm a candidate?
It starts with an exam and Cone Beam 3D imaging to check bone, nerves and sinuses. Healthy gums and enough bone matter, but many people with bone loss have options too.
How long do implants last?
Published research shows about 95 percent of titanium implants remain in place after ten years. Results vary, and good home care and regular check-ups help.
Can the body reject an implant?
True rejection is uncommon. Read more in Can your body reject dental implants?
